HKA Shopping Spree

By Linda

It may be a shock to know that I am one of HKA’s blog administrators, yet I have yet to post an entry. However, I thought it would be fitting that a recovering shoe addict’s first post on InsightsOUT would be about none other than shopping.

Last Wednesday, the HKA crew (along with some friends) enjoyed a girls’ night out at The Hanger in Tustin. The Hanger has locations in Tustin and Brea, and the proceeds of the shops go to Working Wardrobes, a nonprofit organization which helps people in crisis re-enter the workforce by providing them professional wardrobes and aiding with their career development.

The Hanger not only supports a great cause, but they have loads of great stuff at amazing prices. Right away, I found a printed scarf, a black skirt, a red clutch and a vintage-looking fedora. The clothes found at The Hanger have been donated, but are all in good condition and some have never even been worn. I have always been a fan of any type of resale, vintage or secondhand shopping experiences, and here’s why:

  • Prices are Ah-mazing. You don’t have to take out a loan to have some name brands in your closet.
  • It’s great for the environment. Donated clothing means less wasted materials piling up in landfills, and less waste from packaging that comes with brand new clothing.

And perhaps most importantly:

  • No one else will show up at the same party wearing the same dress as you!
